The NUS accused the payday loan company Wonga of insesitively targetting university and college students. Wonga have taken down an offending article saying that it was out of date and might lead to misunderstanding.
Pete Mercer, NUS Vice-President was quoted as saying, "It is highly irresponsible of any company to suggest to students that high-cost short-term loans be a part of their everyday financial planning." Wonga denied that it was actively targetting students.
Wonga currently chargea typical APR of 4,214%.
